All the travellers are obliged to fill in the Customs Declaration Form duplicate upon entering Uzbekistan. All currencies and other valuable items such as jewellery, cameras and computers being imported into the country must be declared in this form. he Customs Declaration Form must be surrendered at the time of departure. This allows an easy export of all imported items. t is essential to produce encashment certificates for all currencies cashed within Uzbekistan in access of US$ 2,000.00 (two thousand). Duty Free: The following goods may be imported into Uzbekistan by tourists aged 18 and older without incurring customs duty: 00 cigarettes or 100 cigars or 500g of tobacco products; 2 litres of alcoholic beverages; a reasonable quantity of perfume for personal use.
Prohibited imports: Firearms, ammunition and drugs. Penalties for possession, use, or trafficking of illegal drugs are strict, and convicted offenders can expect jail sentences and fines. Prohibited exports: Items more than 80 years old and those of special cultural importance require special permission for export. When buying items that may be more than 80 years old, ask for a certificate stating the age of the item.
You have to fill out two custom deceleration form when you enter Uzbekistan, one of which you have to keep and show at time of departure. The English language forms are available at the customs area. Keep the stamped copy returned for the duration of the stay. On departure it is necessary to complete another copy and hand both copies for officials.
Any item older than 40 years is considered to be a national heritage and their export is strictly forbidden. Border crossings Please note that you need a visa for every central Asian country, every time you cross the border to another state you need an extra visa to return to the first state. Because of heavy taxes, we have to change cars or buses at borders, sometimes transport is not allowed into no Man zone because of security reasons so tourists are expected to walk for a distance of up to 100 meters.
